Overview

Merchandiser/Cashier role at O\'Reilly Auto Parts. Primary responsibilities include greeting customers, directing them to products or parts specialists, processing checkouts, and preventing shoplifting. The front area is stocked and displays are kept according to planograms and sales preparation.

Essential Job Functions

  • Merchandiser: Greet customers on the sales floor, assist in locating merchandise, or direct to parts specialist if hard parts are needed.
  • Check in, price, and stock merchandise.
  • Keep merchandise on the display floor fronted, full, and clean daily.
  • Make display changes according to company guidelines and planograms.
  • Make out-front price changes and ensure sale signs are in place; stock sale merchandise and restore pricing when sales end.
  • Assist with stock adjustments, cycle counts, and overstock returns.
  • Work with manager to complete store To Do List and Team Weekly tasks.
  • Act as main shoplifting deterrent/front floor security.
  • Assist with O\’Reilly Image Maker responsibilities.
  • Clock in/out according to company policy.
  • Cashier: Check out customers, handle returns, and assist during busy times at the counter.
  • Process tickets and payments (money, checks, credit cards) when express lane is not in use.

Skills/Education/Experience/Abilities

  • Required: Good aptitude for numbers, good interpersonal communication, and good organizational skills.
  • Desired: Previous cashier and/or stocking experience.
  • Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
