Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Department: Production

Shift: 1st

Reports To: Operations Manager

Classification: Exempt

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Refine plant processes, implement new processes, and solve production related issues
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement and apply strong root cause analysis with robust corrective actions to manufacturing issues to prevent recurrence
  • Author new Capital Expense project requests with return-on-investment calculations
  • Design fixtures and tooling using CAD software
  • Provide proactive input and solutions to improve safety and productivity of shop floor processes
  • Work directly with co-workers and outside vendors on execution of project initiatives
  • Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance to Maintenance Department

Specific Qualifications

Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • Knowledge of sheet metal punching and forming operations
  • Familiar with welding practices and techniques
  • Ability to specify and manage major equipment purchases
  • Use 2-D and 3-D CAD software for fixtures and tooling
  • Interface with shop floor personnel to get feedback and collaborate on solutions to improve safety and productivity
  • Work with multiple departments to provide engineering expertise and technical guidance
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred
  • Five plus years' experience in engineering preferred
  • CAD Software experience such as Inventor, Solid Works & Auto CAD
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Technibus offers standing desk options to combat prolonged sitting
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
