SimVentions is hiring: Senior Red Team Penetration Tester in Portsmouth

Overview:

SimVentions, recognized as one of the best places to work, seeks an experienced Red Team Penetration Tester to join our dynamic team! In this pivotal role, you will lead and conduct advanced penetration testing and offensive cybersecurity operations for U.S. government and DoD systems. Collaborate effectively with Blue Team and cybersecurity professionals to strengthen cyber defenses.

Note: This position is contingent upon contract award, expected in December 2025.

Clearance: An ACTIVE Top Secret/SCI eligible clearance is mandatory for this role. Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet requirements for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship is necessary to obtain a clearance.

Key Requirements:

• Deep understanding of computer security, military system specs, and DoD cybersecurity policies.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• One or more DoD 8570.01-M CSSP Auditor certifications such as:
• CEH
• CySA+
• CISA
• GSNA
• CFR
• PenTest+
• Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification is required.
• One or more of the following certifications:
• Offensive Security Certified Expert (OSCE)
• Offensive Security Exploitation Expert (OSEE)
• Offensive Security Wireless Professional (OSWP)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and utilize offensive security tools like Metasploit, NMAP, Kali Linux, and Cobalt Strike.
• Mimic threat actor behavior using TTPs in line with frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Conduct assessments on various operating systems, including Linux, Windows, and macOS.
• Develop exploits and identify zero-day or unknown vulnerabilities.
• Analyze gaps in offensive tools and development techniques.
• Develop using at least two scripting or programming languages (Python, C++, Java, Rust, Assembly, C#, etc.) for exploit development.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in penetration testing and/or offensive cyber operations, showcasing expertise in the following:

• Developing and using penetration tools like Metasploit, NMAP, Kali Linux, Cobalt Strike.
• Mimicking threat behavior and adversary emulation.
• Proficient in various operating systems (Linux, Windows, macOS).
• Working with Active Directory.
• Conducting exploit development.
• Identifying tool and development technique gaps.
• Programming in at least two languages (Python, C++, Java, Rust, Assembly, C#, etc.).

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering is required.

Compensation: Compensation at SimVentions is based on various factors such as experience, education, security clearance, and more. The projected salary range for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 (USD).
