Overview MBP is recruiting Environmental Compliance Inspectors to inspect during all phases of construction for projects located across Western Virginia, near Roanoke, Virginia. The ideal candidate must be able to independently recognize and report noncompliance issues during routine erosion & sediment control (ESC) and storm water management (SWM) inspections while fostering a partnering relationship with contractors and other project stakeholders. Responsibilities Perform daily record keeping of project activities and monitor and perform environmental inspections to ensure regulatory compliance. Provide technical expertise and be competent with ESC measures, SWM BMPs, SWPPP, Spill Containment Plans, C-107 process, VSMP, ESCCC, and MS4 programs. Interpret state and federal environmental laws, regulations, policies, and best practices. Qualifications High school graduate or two-year civil engineering technology degree 2+ years of experience with state and federal environmental regulations, ESC measures, SWM BMPs, SWPPP, Spill Containment Plans, C-107 process, VSMP, ESCCC, and MS4 programs Good communication (written and oral) and math skills (algebra and geometry) Working knowledge of construction methods, specifications, standards, construction symbols and terminology Ability to read and interpret ESC and SWM plans and contract specifications Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, email and Internet Ability to work independently Required Certifications: Virginia DEQ Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector Certification Additional Certifications Considered a Plus Include: OSHA 10-Hours or OSHA-30 Safety Training Candidates will be subject to outside environmental conditions, including hazards at construction sites. Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 12 hours a day on occasion. Must have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel and twist, use hands to grasp and arms to reach, to raise hands above head, to sit, climb and balance. Must be able to travel overnight as needed. Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Background screening will be performed. Status:
