Overview
The Sr. Data Analyst at St. Mary’s Food Bank is a strategic role focused on building a modern, scalable data environment. This individual will lead enterprise data architecture efforts, transform and model data for a new ERP implementation (NetSuite), and play a key role in integrating and leveraging NetSuite Analytics Warehouse (NSAW). This role will work cross-functionally to design our future data landscape, prepare systems for long-term growth, and drive transformation through analysis, visualization, and data-informed insights. The successful candidate will also supervise future data team members and must demonstrate initiative, leadership, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable, sustainable enterprise data architecture in alignment with organizational goals.
Lead data transformation and migration processes for the NetSuite ERP system, including data modeling and mapping between legacy and new systems.
Build ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data from a variety of sources (internal and external).
Create clear and effective data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaborate with departments to define reporting requirements, KPIs, and data standards.
Conduct statistical and trend analysis to guide decision-making and program evaluation.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and governance across systems.
Advise the organization on data and analytics best practices and stay informed of emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure continuous improvement.
Work closely with leadership to drive strategic insights and improve operational efficiency.
Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's or Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., data science, statistics, computer science) or equivalent experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5+ years of experience in a data analyst or analytics role.
Familiarity with statistical software and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
Experience with data modeling and warehousing: understanding of data structures and database management.
Advanced SQL skills and experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Fivetran, Talend, or similar).
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, take initiative, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and ability to think creatively and solve problems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in the Oracle NetSuite System and NetSuite Analytics Warehouse (NSAW).
Leadership experience and building and motivating a team.
Data governance experience.
ERP implementation experience.
Experience in a non-profit or social service setting is beneficial.
