Senior Sourcing Specialist

The Impact You Will Make The Senior Sourcing Specialist is responsible for procuring direct and indirect materials essential to pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, ensuring timely supply to support production, quality, and compliance. This individual evaluates and selects suppliers based on cost, quality, and regulatory standards, and supports supplier diversity by ensuring compliance with government subcontracting requirements. Analyzes data to support competitive bid processes, drives cost optimization, and provides strategic recommendations to stakeholders. Contributes to continuous improvement through supplier performance management and the standardization of sourcing practices across sites. Role Responsibilities Analyzes division budget expense categories and recommends cost improvement/reduction measures. Develop and execute category management strategies by analyzing total cost of ownership (TCO), supplier capabilities, and market dynamics to optimize long-term value and resilience Review and process requisitions to ensure that the item(s) requisitioned adequately meet the desired requirements and specifications and are obtained at the most favorable price and terms. Ensure timely renewal of blanket and standing orders which includes summarizing dollars spent, monitoring approval levels, requesting pricing from vendors, verifying rate for renewal contract period, revising contract, and distributing copies. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and sustainability criteria Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Quality, production) to align sourcing strategies while mitigating risks Develops EOQ (equal order quantity) and order point strategies for each repetitively purchased item. Lead RFQs, RFPs, and competitive bidding processes to drive cost savings and value creation. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers while mitigating risks Analyze spend data to identify cost-reduction opportunities and drive strategic initiatives Obtains resolution to Supplier Documentation Deficiency Notices. Prepares Material Disposition Authorization Forms for any items needing to be returned. Member of Supplier Diversity Team to ensure Government Minority Subcontracting Plan Goals are met. Keep management informed of all events or supplier furnished data that influences company purchases or scheduled deliveries. Updates and maintains ERP system for purchases made by buyer. Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure performance, compliance, and continuous improvement Assist supply chain managers with managing inventory levels and monitors all issued purchase orders to ensure fulfillment Ability to lead cross-site sourcing initiatives that involve harmonizing specifications, consolidating supplier bases, and standardizing procurement processes across global or multi-plant operations Potential to take on additional projects as needed to support departmental goals and initiatives May be required to adopt a category-focused approach to ensure an efficient procurement process Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related field 1+ years of Procurement/Sourcing related experience Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of Procurement/Sourcing related experience Ability to create and analyze data using pivot tables Kindeva does not accept unsolicited assistance from headhunters or recruitment firms for any of our job openings.
