Responsibilities
Act as the bridge between junior data engineers and the Data Architect, mentoring team members while ensuring alignment to enterprise strategy. Design, build, and optimize SQL Server databases and schemas to support both transactional and analytical workloads. Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to integrate data from diverse enterprise systems. Provide end-to-end project visibility, from business requirements through design, development, and delivery. Perform advanced query tuning, indexing, and database performance optimization. Automate database processes and integrate with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems. Partner with architects, developers, and analysts to ensure data solutions meet business and technical needs. Champion best practices in data engineering, governance, and performance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred. 5+ years of professional experience in database engineering or data engineering roles. Advanced SQL Server expertise (T-SQL, indexing, schema design, and performance tuning). Strong ETL/ELT development experience (SSIS, FME, or comparable tools). Hands-on experience with automation, DevOps practices, and version control (e.g., Git, RedGate). Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior engineers while managing priorities across multiple projects. Preferred: exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), modern orchestration tools (dbt, Airflow), and BI solutions (Power BI, Fabric). Salary Range : $110,000 – $130,000 depending on experience This is a direct-hire, hybrid opportunity in Oklahoma City.
