Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging instruction in phlebotomy and ECG procedures aligned with ASPT certification standards and industry expectations.
• Develop and implement lesson plans, skills labs, and assessments that support student learning outcomes.
• Teach students proper techniques for blood collection, ECG lead placement, patient interaction, infection control, and medical documentation.
• Supervise hands-on skills practice and simulations in a classroom/lab setting.
• Prepare students to sit for the ASPT certification exam and support the administrative aspects of exam readiness.

Qualifications

• Current and valid certification/licensure as a Phlebotomist, Medical Assistant, RN, LPN, or other relevant healthcare professional with experience in phlebotomy and ECG.
• Must have current CPR certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, including phlebotomy and ECG procedures.
• Three letters of reference attesting to experience in both healthcare practice and instruction.
• High school diploma or equivalent; postsecondary degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
• Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to adolescents and foster a positive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching or training experience, especially with high school or adolescent learners.
• Experience with curriculum development or instructional design in healthcare education.
• Familiarity with certification exams such as the ASPT, NHA CPT, and CET.
