Overview

Middlesex Gases - A Linde Company is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our team located in Everett, MA. The Accounting Assistant will perform standard accounting clerical duties in the areas of accounts payable, transaction processing, sales tax, business licenses, and capital accounting.

Pay

Pay Range: $20.24 - $29.69 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities (1st Shift)

• Post detailed entries to accounting records and handle routine transactions such as sales tax exemption certificate processing, vendor invoice processing, disbursements, voucher preparations, and remittances
• Prepare standard journal and ledger entries
• Perform and verify various standard accounting entries for financial data processing systems; reconcile report discrepancies and problems
• Provide daily invoices and special bills to customers for various order processing
• Complete necessary portal billing entry and follow-up work for designated national customer accounts
• Review and research open order reports to ensure billing is completed timely and accurately
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues via calls
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus
• 2 to 4 years of clerical accounting experience required
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable required
• Proficiency in Excel required
• Proficiency in Access is a plus
