Job Summary

The Restaurant Server will oversee the day-to-day operation of first-class customer service and food service in the restaurant. The incumbent will be responsible for receiving food orders, conveying orders to the cook staff, delivering food promptly, and maintaining cleanliness of the serving area. The person will provide excellent customer service and be a strong teammate to our franchise partner.

Responsibilities

• Report to work on time in a clean and complete proper uniform
• Greet all customers with a smile and verbal greeting: “Good Morning or Welcome to Huddle House.”
• Review the menu with customers, suggestively sell products, and take orders from each table
• Submit tickets to the cook’s station using proper abbreviations
• Deliver food promptly when ready
• Handle money from customers, account for all tickets, and ensure all tickets are rung up and closed before the shift ends
• Complete the position checklist while stocking and preparing the unit for the next shift
• Perform prep and cleaning duties as assigned, including bussing tables, sweeping and mopping floors, and cleaning bathrooms and walls
• Report any concerns to the manager, especially safety issues and customer complaints
• Know the menu and daily features, and suggest add-ons and desserts
• Know and follow the Huddle House steps of service with each guest to maximize shift sales

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with all restaurant staff
• Some previous restaurant experience preferred
• “Can do” attitude and willingness to be on shift

Compensation: $3.25 per hour
