Recruiting Assistant For Employer Engagement

Cornell Career Services is seeking a Recruiting Assistant for Employer Engagement to support the management and coordination of campus recruiting activities. This position plays a key role in connecting students with employers and ensuring a seamless recruiting experience.

As the first point of contact for the Employer Engagement team, the Recruiting Assistant will greet visiting employers, provide guidance, and help troubleshoot any questions or challenges during their visit. The role also assists with both virtual and in-person recruiting activities, ensuring smooth interactions between Cornell students and employers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the coordination of on-campus and virtual recruiting activities.
  • Marketing opportunities to students, employers, and campus partners.
  • Reviewing and approving employer accounts and job postings on Handshake.
  • Providing initial information on recruiting, professional readiness, and career resources to students, employers, parents, and partners.
  • Representing the unit with professionalism as the first point of contact.

What We Need

We are seeking a team member who is self-motivated, demonstrates strong time management and prioritization skills, and is technically savvy. Additionally, you will have:

  • An Associate's degree with 2 - 4 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Proficiency in a variety of software and web-based tools, including Word, Excel, html and ability to learn new tools as needed.
  • The ability to make objective decisions based on past experiences and relevant information.
  • Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities.
  • The ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

If you possess these experiences and skills this may be the role for you! There are a few other qualifications we would view as incredibly helpful in this role, to include:

  • Previous work experience in a student service environment
  • Handshake experience
  • Knowledge of Cornell University
  • Interest and/or experience in employer relations
  • Strong oral/written communications skills
