Join our team as a Receptionist to support daily operations at our affordable multifamily community in Chelsea, Manhattan. As the first point of contact for residents, prospects, vendors, and guests, you will create a welcoming front-desk experience, answer and route calls and provide administrative support to leasing and compliance activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Welcoming tenants and new applicants and guiding them through the application process.
- Distributing application materials, conducting interviews, and conducting background and credit checks.
- Managing leasing tasks such as lease signings, preparing financial statements and invoices, and performing other administrative duties as assigned.
- Organize applicant and resident files (paper and electronic) using property checklists; ensure documents are properly labeled, dated, and filed.
- Track deadlines for certifications, renewals, and notices; update logs and alert the team of upcoming items.
- Support audit preparation (MORs, LIHTC file reviews) by assembling file lists, pulling documents, and confirming file order.
- Assist with resident engagement activities (sign-ups, room set-up, refreshments, post-event clean-up).
- Order office supplies; maintain lobby, and work areas in ready condition.
- Available to work on-site, Monday-Friday 8:30AM - 5PM

- $21.63 - $28.85 / hour
- Annual Performance Bonus

Qualifications
- 1+ year of front-desk, customer service, or administrative experience.
- Experience in multifamily or affordable housing experience a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort learning property systems.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for creating great living experiences.
- Strong customer service, verbal and written communication, and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and navigate sensitive issues professionally.
- Demonstrates accountability and reliability by taking full ownership of projects and outcomes, prioritizing precision and attention to detail, and approaching challenges with grit, resilience, and proactive problem-solving, while continuously engaging in learning and development to enhance performance; fosters collaboration and a resident-centered environment, ensuring empathy, respect, and cross-functional success in all interactions.
