Seasonal Warehouse Job at CSC Generation in Christiansburg

This is a Seasonal Position with a maximum employment period of six (6) months. We offer three full-time shift options; part-time positions are not available.

Backcountry has an amazing opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our Warehouse team as a Merchandise Processor. If you are fast on your feet and enjoy handling the gear we sell from entry to exit, this role may be for you — more like pre-shopping than work!

Three Shifts Available:

• AM — Mon-Fri, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., $15.00/hr
• PM — Mon-Fri, 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., $15.00/hr + $1.85/hr shift differential = $16.85/hr
• WKN — Sat-Tue, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., $15.00/hr + $2.00/hr shift differential = $17.00/hr

Seasonal Position Info:

• Yes! We often convert high-performing seasonal employees to regular status; decisions are based on business demands and performance.
• Seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits; however, you do participate in our employee discount perk.

Overtime: Overtime may be required to support operational demands. When this happens, overtime is typically scheduled as follows:

• AM Shift: May begin up to 1 hour earlier than the standard start time
• PM Shift: May extend up to 1 hour beyond the usual end time
• Weekend Shift: May include an additional day, as shifts are already 10–12 hours

Blackout Dates & Holiday Information: Our warehouse will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day; shorter hours on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. To support our busiest season, our Backcountry fulfillment centers have a blackout period for time off requests. The blackout period is typically from November 10 through December 23. During this blackout period, time off requests cannot be approved.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Stand and walk for your entire shift
• Read and audit labels
• Identify, count, and sort packages and inventory with a high level of accuracy
• Understand and differentiate between shipping methods and sort packages accordingly
• Use automated packaging equipment
• Participate in team meetings, follow guidance, and provide feedback as appropriate
• Maintain a clean workspace
• Resolve inventory issues to ensure inventory and/or shipping accuracy
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Participate in LEAN initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Prefer high school diploma or equivalency
• Verbal and written comprehension of the English language required
• Fundamental math skills required
• Must be able to apply established procedures and follow oral/written instructions
• Must be able to work independently without direct supervision and organize/prioritize workload to ensure completion of all tasks within established time frames
• Computer skills, including familiarity with the internet and email required
• Experience operating power industrial equipment (e.g., standing order picker or forklift)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Frequently climb up and down stairs but rarely climb ladders
• Frequently bend/twist at waist/knees/neck

• Crawling is typically not required
• Work is performed indoors, and the noise level is usually moderate

$15 - $17 an hour
