The Warehouse Lead is responsible for the daily operation of the warehouse and supervision of FTWH employees. The Warehouse Lead ensures all employees and activities are operating with designated safety standards, as well as making sure all stock is received and processed in accordance with proper procedures. The Warehouse Lead leads a team in all inbound, outbound, cycle counting, quality procedures, and emergency operations as required, and prepares and maintains daily operational reports for submission to Full-Time Supervisor and Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Processing and requisitioning of supplies; delivering, and packaging materials for shipment.
  • Supervise and coordinate Warehouse Personnel and activities including receipt, storage, to meet productivity goals, operating objectives, and warehouse maintenance functions.
  • Coordinate new and current employee training to include, but not limited to: personal safety, forklift safety, warehouse policy and procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve discrepancies related to shipping, receiving and inventory. Research errors and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare work schedules including work assignments/rotations, employee training, breaks, overtime assignments, and coverage for vacation/personal absences.
  • Address and review personnel complaints and grievances ensuring compliance with company procedures and resolution without biases.
  • Assist Full-Time Supervisor in developing plans and programs for process improvement.
  • Assist Full-Time Supervisor in compiling productivity and reliability statistics for management.
  • Complete daily sanitation schedule and process end-shift paperwork.
  • Ensure that the warehouse is maintained in a sanitary manner according to Company standards.
  • Inform Full-Time Supervisor of potential problems and changes.
  • Act as backup in the absence of Full-Time Supervisor.
  • Review and approve employee time and attendance records.
  • Address performance problems through corrective action as needed.

Qualifications And Job Specifications

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalency required. Working on a college degree preferred.
  • Exhibits solid leadership ability
  • Demonstrates sound problem-solving skills
  • Displays dedication to a high standard of performance
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have reach truck experience

Technical Expertise

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Experience with warehouse operations, procedures, equipment, and terminology
  • Use of terminology of requisitions, invoices, and other warehouse documents
  • Operation of warehouse equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks
  • Experience utilizing WMS, RF Guns/Scanners

Additional Employment Requirements

  • Must be able to successfully pass all preliminary employment requirements (background check and drug screen).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Demonstration of: effective time management skills; impeccable verbal and written communication skills; ability to conduct appropriate research; strong presentation skills; attention to detail and organization; critical thinking; ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
