Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organized Restaurant Host to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a positive dining experience from the moment guests arrive. This is an entry position that requires excellent communication skills, welcoming personality, attention to detail, and a passion for customer service.
Responsibilities
- Take reservations accurately
- Ensure that tables are properly set prior to seating guests
- Be aware of overall dining room and lounge appearance and cleanliness: lights, heat / AC and music properly adjusted, tables set properly before seating guests, table linens straight and wrinkle free, seat covers clean and crumb free, menus clean and current
- Communicate any special notes on the reservations to the manager and server
- Refer guests to the bar area if their table is not ready, give an approximate time the guest can expect to wait
- Possess good background knowledge of our menu items & drinks in order to take to-go and room service orders
- Responsible for making follow-up phone calls to confirm reservations
- Perform other duties as required; opening and closing side work
- Support in extended duties as directed by management
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $16.50 hourly rate plus gratuity averaging from $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Requirements
- Knowledgeable in the use of reservation system is a plus.
- Must possess professional telephone etiquette.
- Is a willing and supportive team member that contributes to the restaurant departmental goals; provide suggestions/recommendations in order to maintain the status of innovative leader in culinary and hospitality excellence.
- Able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; listen and respond appropriately to their concerns.
- Is effective at working multiple priorities, working under stress, time management and exercise good judgment with guest and employee situations and challenges.
- Must have flexibility in performing different job roles within the restaurant.
- Available to work a minimum of 3 shifts a week including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
Physical Abilities
Constant standing and repetitive use of hands, arms and legs; bending of neck. Frequent walking, carrying, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling. Occasional twisting of neck, power grasping, reaching below, above at your shoulder level. You must have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, stoop and reach; lift and carry equipment and supplies; constantly walk and stand for long periods (up to 4 hours) and ability to work in a fast-paced environment; walking over uneven ground and up and down stairs to service guests with or without reasonable accommodation. See and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids. Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone. Speak so that others may understand at normal levels and on the telephone.
