Delivery Driver role at Staples. Staples is business to business. You’ll be part of the Supply Chain team delivering office supplies to customers on an assigned route.
Schedule: 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday–Friday.
What you’ll be doing
Transport products safely and deliver office supplies on your assigned route. Depending on volume, you may load your truck. Ensure safe work practices and foster Staples safety culture. Organize and load product for delivery using the manifest to assure the most efficient route and schedule. Be a problem solver for customers, provide customer support, accept product returns, and represent Staples on the road.
You’ll be essential to the success of Staples Supply Chain as we deliver to customers.
What you bring to the table
- An ability to be a safe and courteous driver who can navigate a map in varied weather and road conditions.
- An ability to make sound decisions related to driving, parking, safety, and customer interactions.
- An inclusive approach with colleagues and customers to forge strong relationships and resolve issues.
- An ability to use technology including GPS and mobile Proof of Delivery (POD) devices.
- An ability and willingness to maintain vehicle cleanliness including performing pre-trip inspections and reporting maintenance concerns.
What’s needed - Basic Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the company and eligibility to drive a commercial motor vehicle under applicable laws and regulations.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen (No THC) to the extent legally permissible.
- Must obtain a 6-month DOT medical card specific to the role.
- Basic English language skills (verbal and written).
- Full-time associates must be able to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs, push/pull items up to 400 lbs with assistance, and occasionally maneuver up to 130 lbs.
- Safety composite shoes required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 1 year of truck driving experience (operating a 16 ft or longer straight truck) or equivalent driving experience.
- High-volume package delivery experience.
