Overview

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Heavy Equipment Shop Technician to join our team in Memphis. This position is responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of heavy-duty construction and industrial equipment in a shop environment. Ideal candidates will have a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs on a variety of heavy equipment
  • Complete routine maintenance services such as oil changes, brake adjustments, fluid checks, and filter replacements
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to identify equipment issues and implement repairs efficiently
  • Inspect equipment thoroughly to ensure safe operating conditions
  • Maintain service records, repair logs, and parts inventory using company software
  • Adhere to company safety standards and OSHA regulations at all times
  • Communicate repair status and recommendations to shop manager or service coordinator

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (technical school or ASE certification preferred)
  • 1+ year of experience working on heavy equipment (CAT, Komatsu, Deere, or similar)
  • Proficiency in hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical troubleshooting
  • Ability to read schematics and technical manuals
  • Own basic hand tools (specialty tools provided or reimbursed)
  • Strong attention to detail and safety
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
