Overview

Hybrid Telework Opportunity. The Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) is the leader in collecting data and disseminating information about California's healthcare infrastructure. Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager I of the Cost Transparency Prescription Drug Unit within the Office of Information Services (OIS), the Health Program Specialist I will serve as the program coordinator and provide support for the collection of Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) data for the Health Care Payments Data Program (HPD). The incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert and a coordinator in stakeholder outreach and engagement, contract management, budget tracking, regulation development, and legislative bill analysis activities in the Cost Transparency Prescription Drug Unit. The HPS I will also contribute as a writer and editor responsible for communicating with PBMs required to submit data to the HPD program (e.g., program website content, listserv emails, newsletters, and public reports) and support the HPD submitter group and related outreach meetings. Staff handle confidential patient data; compliance with statutes, regulations, and HCAI policies is required for data collection, storage, disclosure, and use. Coordinate the collection of PBM data for the HPD program, acting as program coordinator and SME within the Cost Transparency Prescription Drug Unit. Engage with stakeholders, manage contracts, track budgets, develop regulations, and analyze legislation related to cost transparency and prescription drugs. Contribute as a writer/editor for communications to PBMs and public-facing materials (website content, emails, newsletters, public reports). Support the HPD submitter group and related outreach and engagement meetings. Handle confidential data in accordance with applicable laws and HCAI policies. Special Requirements
