Our environment encourages individual growth and innovative thought. We are seeking Heavy Duty Equipment Operators for projects in the Greater Baton Rouge to New Orleans Areas.

Responsibilities

  • Operates Excavators, Dozers, & other grading equipment to cut/fill grade as they spread and level dirt and gravel to specifications.
  • Proficient in operating GPS/UTS machine control systems in dozers & excavators.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Shoot grade with rotating lasers and site levels.
  • Experience in Greenfield, Heavy Highway, & Industrial Civil Construction projects.
  • Experience in mass excavation, mass embankment & grading, rough and fine grading, large diameter pipe installation, subsurface utility probing and installation, dressing back of curb, sloping, establishment of drainage, and stockpiling of materials.
  • Excavate at borrow and aggregate loading sites, establish & maintain off-road trucking routes, and load various types of dump trucks with borrow & aggregate.
  • Perform daily inspections and maintenance on Excavators, Dozers, Front-End Loaders, Packers, and related tools; conduct pre- and post-inspections and perform minor equipment maintenance.
  • Complete assignments as directed and be a collaborative team player; assist in a variety of site roles and perform general labor when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean job site and ensure safety by securing tools and equipment daily.
  • Follow safety and incident reporting procedures and escalate issues to the appropriate supervisor.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme conditions at construction job sites including high heat and humidity, cold, ice, snow, and rain. The noise level can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

Physical Demands

The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods, and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee may lift, push, pull, or carry objects; uses core strength and multi-limb coordination; and may move quickly in outdoor, uneven terrain.
