Litigation Secretary
Location: Nashville, TN | Schedule: Full-time | Onsite
Our client, a premier international labor and employment law firm, is seeking a skilled and experienced Litigation Secretary to join their Nashville office. This essential role supports attorneys in delivering exceptional client service while ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of daily legal processes.
Key Responsibilities
Format and prepare briefs, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents.
File legal documents with state and federal courts (strong e-filing experience required).
Proofread all documents for accuracy and completeness prior to distribution or filing.
Maintain and update client files, ensuring all records are organized and current.
Manage attorney calendars in Outlook and CompuLaw, including scheduling and tracking key deadlines.
Coordinate and organize travel arrangements for assigned attorneys.
Enter, review, and revise timekeeper timesheets with proper litigation coding.
Prepare attorney reimbursements and mileage reports.
Provide friendly, professional telephone support and occasional receptionist coverage.
Review vendor invoices for accuracy, prepare check requests, and submit invoices for payment.
Assist with the timely review and submission of pre-bills and client invoices.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
Minimum of five years of experience as a legal secretary, preferably in litigation.
Proficiency with Lexis Nexis, Pacer, ECF, CompuLaw, and Concur.
Strong understanding of legal terminology, litigation procedures, and document formatting (including tables of contents and authorities).
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), document management systems, time entry, e-filing, and related legal software.
