Overview
Operations Assistant - NBK Bremerton - All-American Restaurant. Supports the Military's Quality of Life programs through the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC). The position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Food and Beverage; Fleet Readiness; CNIC.
Responsibilities
- Ensure an efficient operation in accordance with regulations and procedures.
- Promote good patron relationships and enhance the image of the facility.
- Oversee operation and provide instruction and guidance to staff members.
- Ensure that patrons receive courteous and efficient service.
- Work with facility staff to ensure smooth operation; assist staff to provide faster service to patrons.
- Coordinate with the Manager to schedule employees and ensure adequate manning for routine operations; optimize labor costs; inspect facilities and staff appearance; evaluate employees timely.
- Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed; perform occasional unscheduled cash counts.
- Prepare reports of significant occurrences during shifts (e.g., staffing issues, equipment breakdowns).
- Identify and resolve problems; enforce a thorough safety program.
- Participate in creating and promoting effective programs and activities.
- May be required to use a cash register and POS system.
- May be called upon to perform duties of subordinate positions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements/Conditions of Employment
- A minimum of one year experience as a leader/supervisor in a business operation (e.g., restaurant, club, storefront).
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and sales operation.
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- May be required to lift up to 45 lbs.
- Travel and related use of vehicles is required.
- Successful completion of National Agency Background Check (NACI) required.

- Possess a working knowledge of the operation in which assigned.
- Strong people-oriented personality with tact and diplomacy; ability to influence and obtain cooperation and assistance.
- Ability to supervise a group and render decisions.
- Neat, well-groomed appearance.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; provide work direction to other employees.
