The Opportunity

The Cybersecurity Engineer I will design, develop, manage, and support a secure infrastructure leveraging cloud platform security technology and has an integral role toward protecting data entrusted to Ensemble Health Partners. This may involve analyzing existing cloud structures and creating new and enhanced security methods. The Cybersecurity Engineer I handles managing, configuring, finetuning and deploying cloud native policies to enhance security controls and reduce information security risks. This position will leverage resources to engineer solutions which support both IT and security controls and initiatives including support of HITRUST control and CIS framework requirements. The Cybersecurity Engineer I will stay informed on current threats and proactively probe the enterprise for potential vulnerabilities and develop mitigation plans in collaboration with security and IT teams. The Security Engineer is responsible for managing, configuring, finetuning and deploying policies to enhance security controls and reduce information security risks. This position will leverage resources to build solutions which supports both IT and security controls and initiatives including support of HITRUST control framework requirements. The Security Engineer will proactively probe the enterprise for potential vulnerabilities and develop mitigation plans in collaboration with security and IT teams.

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinate with relevant teams to manage and update rules and signatures for specialized cyber defense applications.
  • Manage and configure cyber defense tools including SIEM, scanners, AV, etc. Assist in the development and maintenance of security documentation and playbooks.
  • Participate in IT projects providing security architecture and security controls integration requirements support.
  • Respond to crises or urgent situations to mitigate threats or IT issues. Track and document steps from initial detection through final resolution.
  • Assist with investigations of suspected improper activity, coordinate reporting and recommend corrective steps.
  • Respond to security-related incidents and service requests within the defined service level agreements.
  • Manage and maintain, tune, and optimize the Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) and API Management Services.
  • Follow Change Management processes and present change details in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings; work with the CAB to establish pre-approved changes.
  • Improve process efficiency by crafting and implementing changes to deployment methodologies.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of security incidents, assessments, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineering, and cybersecurity analysts to ensure adequate security solutions across IT systems, cloud systems, and platforms.

Preferred Area of Study: Computer Science

Other Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience/ Education: 1-2 years of experience in Security
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH are a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Strong familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems and cloud provider ecosystems like Azure
  • Knowledge of security principles, techniques, and technologies
  • Familiarity with security tools such as firewalls, IDS, and antivirus software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Compensation: This position pays between $63,100-94,650 based on experience
