Senior Water Resources Design Engineer

— Gainesville, Florida. Our Water Group is currently recruiting an Environmental, Civil or Agricultural Engineer who enjoys the technical aspects of water resources projects. This is a career opportunity for an individual with strong technical engineering and client skills to assist with technical aspects of engineering design projects, project management, and development of proposals related to water resources projects focused on stormwater, dredging, wetland restoration and permitting projects, or similar skill sets. Responsibilities

Engineer with a background in Environmental, Civil, or Agricultural Engineering with strong technical skills to deliver quality products to customers in an expanding marketplace. Conduct both field and office elements of projects. Perform water quality, hydrologic, and groundwater modeling; develop water budgets; understand structural components related to water resources design improvements. Prepare erosion and sediment control plans. Using CAD, prepare design plans, construction bid documents, permitting documents and provide construction phase services. Collaborate with staff on project tasks in a team environment. Commit to the company\'s "Beyond Zero" safety program; follow safety standards and maintain a safe workplace. Basic/Required Qualifications

5-7 years of design experience (preferred). Minimum BS Engineering. EI certification and working towards PE (or professional engineer licensure). Strong skills in water resources engineering, including environmental and water quality, hydrologic modeling, AutoCAD design and construction oversight. Specific knowledge of the hydrology and water quality issues of Florida. Understanding of climate change concepts. Client relationships and project experience in Florida required. Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic models such as ICPR and HEC. Proficiency with MS Office. Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare reports and proposals. Attention to detail; ability to apply cost control, scheduling and risk management. Mentoring and motivating junior staff. Ability to travel locally and out of area; majority of travel within Florida. Located in the Gainesville, FL office. Must pass background check and have a satisfactory driving record per company policy. About WSP
