This position is part of Gandara Center’s Boston Youth Violence Prevention Program (BYVPP), offering comprehensive services for immigrant children ages 10-15 and their families, including individual counseling, family therapy with evidence-based interventions, case management, outreach, and advocacy. Client Services Responsibilities: Conduct behavioral health assessments (initial assessment) at the youth's home or location chosen by the family. Develop youth and family centered treatment plans in collaboration with the youth, parent/caregiver(s), and required consents. Provide or arrange transportation for clients to appointments or crisis/respite services as needed. Maintain active driver’s license and auto insurance. Review and develop risk management/safety plans with the youth and caregiver(s). Provide family and/or individual therapy using structural, strategic, or behavioral approaches and evidence-based interventions to improve problem solving, risk management, communication, and goal attainment. Identify community resources and develop natural supports to sustain treatment plan goals. Provide or secure support and crisis/emergency services, via in-person, phone, or on-call contacts. Collaborate with other professionals involved with the youth and family (e.g., school, probation, physicians, etc.) and notify the agency of emergencies or critical incidents. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in a human service field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Family Therapy) from an accredited institution. Training in family therapy and experience with youth and families. Experience navigating child/family-serving systems and advocating for families in the behavioral health system. Strong problem-solving, communication, administrative, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and community partners (e.g., school districts, DMH, DDS, DYS, Juvenile Court). Willingness to participate in a program that supports youth and families 24/7. Active driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle. Bi-Cultural and Bi-Lingual preferred (English/Spanish required; English/Portuguese and Cape Verdean a plus). Language needs vary by office location.
