Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Speech Language Pathology experience; new grads are welcome to apply Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. The SLP develops and implements individualized treatment plans to enhance speech, language, and cognitive-communication abilities, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers to improve outcomes and quality of life. Essential Work Functions
Evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders using standardized assessments and clinical observation Design and implement personalized therapy programs based on evaluations, patient goals, and evidence-based practices Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, home-based exercises, and safe swallowing practices; provide supportive counseling as required Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards Participate in quality assurance and professional development to stay current with best practices Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; proficient PC skills Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment, push/pull, and bend as required Collaborative teamwork across professional and ancillary staff Ability to grasp and manipulate small objects and assist with procedures and equipment Mental acuity to work under deadlines, sometimes with irregular schedules and close supervision as needed Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication abilities Benefits
