Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems seeks a Principal Engineer Network – Lab Network Engineer (25-365) to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. This role supports the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels. On-site work with no remote options; relocation assistance is not provided. Responsibilities

Serve as the primary Network Engineer for the C2BMC Program, functioning as both Network Engineer and Developer to support network build-out and deployments in the operational environment. Collaborate within an agile Scrum team to plan work based on customer requirements and program contractual obligations. Design, develop, test, diagnose, and troubleshoot network infrastructures; capture and decipher packets; manage NAT, network timing, and review technical network diagrams. Apply firewall and IDS/IPS experience; perform network traffic analysis and troubleshooting; work with Juniper and/or Cisco networking equipment; configure UDP multicast, VLANs, GRE tunnels, and TCP/IP designs. Support security practices, STIG compliance, and system accreditation efforts; maintain awareness of DoD security certifications and related frameworks. Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 5 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience; or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Current DoD-issued Secret clearance (in-scope) at time of application to start. DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.). Familiarity with TCP/IP, OSI model, multicast, firewalls, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF). Experience with Juniper and/or Cisco networking equipment; UDP multicast, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs. Understanding of DoD security practices and system accreditation processes. Industry certifications (Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP/JNCIE; Cisco CCNA/CCNP) preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form; strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with C2BMC network is highly preferred. Experience with protocol analyzers such as Wireshark; familiarity with virtualization and Agile development/testing methodologies. Knowledge of automated testing frameworks, Python, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet. Experience handling large data sets, data analysis, and action plan development with documentation and presentation skills. Hands-on experience with WAN optimizers, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment; strong JUNOS knowledge. Experience with authentication and encryption methods (TACACS+, Active Directory, GEM-X) and virtualization technologies (VMware, vCenter, vSphere). What We Can Offer You

Salary range: Primary Level $91,200.00 – $136,800.00. Actual offers depend on experience, scope, and market conditions.
