Lead Software Engineer

for the Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) PATRIOT Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Product Office. The software engineer must be highly organized with a strong technical background in software and the ability to identify and resolve highly complex problems that cross organizational boundaries. The engineer will aim to obtain Army and Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certifications and authority to operate (ATO) on the LINK-16 network. Responsibilities

Function within the project office’s software directorate and work with contractors, government civilians and system operators. Be a self-starter in a fast-paced environment and engage various levels of stakeholders to advise on software technology products related to system performance, sustainment, obsolescence mitigation, and modernization. Provide technical oversight of PATRIOT GSE software development and brief development status of ICC software products. Coordinate with U.S. and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers to prioritize new capabilities for ICC software products. Lead and coordinate ICC software product working groups and work with Army and Joint Interoperability agencies to obtain interop certifications for the PATRIOT weapon system. Travel as required to support the position. Qualifications

Required Qualifications: US Citizenship and residency in Huntsville, AL area or willingness to relocate to Huntsville, AL. Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, physics, or an engineering field. 3 to 10 years of experience in developing scientific or tactical software systems. Familiarity with software programmatic schedules and processes. Desired Qualifications: Software system development experience in DoD programs, especially Army Air and Missile Defense or Interoperability via Link-16. Excellent communication skills, experience with both development staff and end users, strong work ethic. Experience with software systems engineering and software testing in an Agile methodology. Ability to acquire or possess (and maintain) a US Secret security clearance. Location & Opportunities
