Job Summary

Perform planning services and architectural design for capital construction projects on the GT campus. Assignments include conceptual drawing, architectural design, building systems, and code compliance and construction observation. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Managers in Planning, Design & Construction, architectural and engineering design colleagues, and client representatives. This position will typically advise and counsel: project client representatives, product manufacturer representatives. This position will supervise: N/A. Responsibilities

Research, collaborate and ideate at all scales to include favorable solutions, plans and visualizations to guide the future development of the build environs in/and around the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prepare planning and architectural designs for campus development projects. Collaborate with project teams, providing planning options, architectural designs and construction drawings, specifications, schedule, cost estimates and project reports, as required. Assist to develop phasing and relocation plans for construction projects. Develop and maintain current knowledge of developments in the design profession. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Architecture and/or Interior Design Required Experience One to three years of job-related experience Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications American Institute of Certified Planners certification or equivalent. Preferred Educational Qualifications Graduate Degree in Master of Architecture Preferred Experience Three years of work experience with emphasis on campus planning and programming. Experience in a college or university setting, planning firm, or architectural firm, with progressive career responsibilities Proven track record with planning activities in the higher education sector. Participation in professional organizations and/or conferences dedicated to planning or design for higher education. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES Travel Requirement: 10% or less KNOWLEDGE Proficiency in various design software packages such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, BIM, GIS, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Word, Excel or other applicable software packages SKILLS Computer aided design (CAD), architectural rendering, parametric modeling, technical writing, spreadsheet, email; some knowledge of building codes and cost estimating desired Improvement of the design and construction standards of Institute buildings, recognizing the growing complexity of contemporary academic programs USG Core Values
