Job Description

Role: Project Engineer

Job Summary:

The Project Engineer role lays a central role in introducing automation and upgrades that reduce costs and foster innovation. They will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and equipment uptime—essential for seamless manufacturing operations and will spearhead critical electrical infrastructure projects that drive plant efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Job Responsibilities

Designing, developing, and improving electrical systems and equipment in manufacturing plants. Overseeing the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, ensuring minimal downtime. Ensuring that electrical installations meet safety and regulatory standards, such as OSHA and NEC. Conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments of electrical equipment and installations Leading electrical projects, including upgrades, new equipment installations, and automation initiatives. Identifying areas for electrical system optimization to improve plant efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and lower costs. Ensuring all electrical systems comply with relevant local, state, and federal codes and regulations Maintaining detailed records of electrical systems, including schematics, manuals, and inspection reports. Collaborating with vendors and contractors for equipment procurement and installations. Staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the company's operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment Proficiency in designing and implementing electrical control systems, PLC programming, and automation. Strong understanding of electrical codes and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, OSHA). Experience with high-voltage systems, motor controls, and power distribution Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of leading successful electrical projects Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical).
