Application Development - Automation Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our Application Development team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about building robust test automation frameworks and ensuring software quality across web-based payment systems, APIs, and third-party integrations. You will work in a collaborative, Scrum-based environment alongside QA engineers, developers, product owners, and leadership to uphold our high standards of quality and reliability. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using JavaScript and Cypress.io for UI and API testing across multiple web-based payment portals. Implement automated processes for nightly test runs and monitor their performance. Collaborate with engineering teams to embed QA and automation into the development lifecycle. Develop comprehensive test strategies and ensure thorough regression coverage. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Docker and Jenkins. Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers. Analyze test results and provide actionable recommendations. Troubleshoot and automate challenging test scenarios. Communicate automation needs and challenges effectively across teams. Report automation progress during sprint ceremonies. Perform other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 5–6 years of experience in programming and test automation. Preferred Skills & Experience
Proven experience building test automation frameworks from scratch. Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Cypress.io. Backend API automation experience (e.g., Python or similar). Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, Playwright, Docker, Jenkins, SQL, React.js, Node.js. Experience with security/penetration, performance, and load testing. Exposure to Golang, PHP, Python, Java. API testing using Bruno. Knowledge of AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipeline development. Understanding of HIPAA, PCI, and PII compliance standards. Experience in e-commerce and POS hardware testing.
