Overview
Emory University is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join the Candler School of Theology as an Admissions Advisor. This role focuses on recruiting for Candler’s two-year master's programs, including those geared towards individuals discerning a call to vocational ministry. The successful candidate will identify and engage prospective students, guide them from inquiry through matriculation, and cultivate relationships with key influencers within the theological and broader academic community.
Key Responsibilities
Recruits students by traveling to high schools and college recruitment fairs.
Reviews, analyzes, and rates applications of students applying for admission.
Conducts information sessions for visiting students and parents, and may conduct campus tours.
Assists in coordinating alumni volunteer activities.
May review and edit financial aid forms.
Composes correspondence, and designs and generates reports.
Maintains communication via telephone, correspondence, and/or electronic mail with prospective students through all stages of the recruitment and admission process.
Performs related responsibilities as required.

Program Focus Areas
Student Recruitment: Represent Candler at college recruitment fairs, ministry events, and other settings where prospective students may be found.
Program Advocacy: Promote Candler’s two-year degree programs, including the Master of Theological Studies, Master of Arts in Religion and Leadership, and Master of Religion and Public Life.
Prospective Student Engagement: Lead information sessions, conduct campus tours, and provide a knowledgeable resource throughout the admissions process.
Communication & Outreach: Maintain consistent communication with prospective students and key influencers via multiple channels to support enrollment.
Collaboration: Work with the Associate Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid and other team members to develop recruitment strategies aligned with Candler’s goals.
Faculty and Alumni Engagement: Assist in coordinating faculty and alumni activities to support recruitment.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with a diverse community.
Preferred Qualifications
Theological Education: Graduate degree in theology, ministry, or university student recruitment; prior experience in a graduate theological school setting is desirable.
Design Proficiency: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools for recruitment materials.
Technical Proficiency: Strong MS Office skills and familiarity with enrollment management software (e.g., Slate).
Recruitment Expertise: Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, and execute recruitment strategies.
Travel: Willingness to travel extensively for recruitment; valid driver’s license required.
Additional Details Note: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to the employee.
