Summary
The Drywall Framer is responsible for installing wallboards to ceilings or to interior walls of buildings and applying plaster, smoothing out imperfections with trowels and shackle, and applying coats of compound after panels are mounted to walls or ceiling. Responsibilities
Prepare panels by sawing, drilling, or cutting holes in panels for electrical outlets, air-conditioning units, and plumbing. Plan the installation by marking the lines on the drywall and using measuring instruments such as tape measures. Hang and layout drywall; prepare drywall for paint by smoothing transitions and cleaning up the jobsite at completion. Chalk layout, metal framing, hanging sheetrock, taping, and finishing. Trim rough edges from wallboard to maintain even joints and a neat, professional appearance. Attend and participate in site meetings, sharing knowledge and ideas when needed. Operate router, screw guns, and tape measure to complete daily tasks. Perform any other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid state-issued Driver's License and reliable transportation. Ability to accurately read drawings. Must have own tools. Apprenticeship or equivalent training in the construction industry. 2-5 years of experience in metal stud framing preferred. Experience with hammer drills, pneumatic nailing guns, and cutting torches. Strong ability to plan installations and take accurate measurements. Knowledge of fasteners (studs, nails, screws, anchors, connectors). Extensive experience in installing drywall panels. Keen attention to detail and experience overseeing general construction workers. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Basic knowledge of OSHA and construction safety practices. Excellent hand-eye coordination. Ability to work independently and with a crew. Bi-lingual is a plus (English/Spanish). Physical requirements and work environment
Extended periods of kneeling, bending, standing, and stretching are required. Heavy equipment may need to be moved. Climbing ladders and working at height is expected. Must be able to regularly lift and/or pull up to 75 lbs. Safety gear (gloves, goggles, masks) is required on-site. The job is primarily indoors at residential and commercial locations with varying noise levels. Adherence to OSHA and company safety practices is essential. Benefits
