Job Location: Torrance Campus – Torrance, CA Position Type: FT 100% – 40 hours per week (FT Benefit) Salary Range: $24.00 – $38.46 Hourly Job Shift: Day Description
The Mathews Laboratory at the Lundquist Institute/Harbor-UCLA seeks a qualified Research Associate to support ongoing studies in murine models of Ataxia-Telangiectasia (A-T). The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of in vivo and ex vivo experimental procedures in accordance with institutional guidelines. Responsibilities
Performing rodent brain surgeries, including stereotaxic procedures. Conducting behavioral testing (Rotorod, CatWalk, Beam Balance, and related paradigms) and subsequent data analysis. Maintaining colonies, performing animal husbandry, and ensuring adherence to IACUC standards. Processing tissues for histological analysis, including immunostaining and fluorescent microscopy. Maintaining detailed records of experiments and assisting in preparation of reports, manuscripts, and grant submissions. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, Biology, or a related field (Master’s preferred). – At least three years of research experience, with emphasis on neuroscience or cell/molecular biology. – Demonstrated proficiency with rodent brain surgeries, behavioral assays, histology, and microscopy. – Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with in vitro electrophysiology and cell culture. Familiarity with computational tools such as Python, Matlab, or ImageJ. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits, commensurate with experience.
