$28.00/hr - $43.00/hr Boston, MA (31 Heath Street, 02130) Full-Time: 10:00am - 6:00pm (Summer), 11:00am - 7:00pm (School Year) The Possible Zone (TPZ), a nonprofit organization, seeks a

2D & 3D Education Technician . The ideal candidate is a maker and mentor passionate about closing the opportunity gap with a strong track record of operating and facilitating digital fabrication design and production using 2D printing, 3D printing, and CNC machining equipment. This is a full-time, in-person role based in our Boston Innovation Center. Responsibilities

Serve as passionate and dedicated caretaker of TPZ's advanced 2D and 3D digital fabrication equipment, tools, and related resources, including:

oversight of daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance troubleshooting coordination with equipment manufacturers for servicing

Create, implement, and enforce safety protocols for advanced manufacturing equipment, including wide-format UV printer, Zund multi-function cutter, Tormach and Nomad CNC mills, Trotec laser cutters, Fuse1 SLS printer, and other related hand/power tools and finishing equipment Collaborate with Fab-Lab Maintenance Technician on maintenance and safety trainings/certifications (for the 2D/3D fabrication equipment) Cross-collaborate with other TPZ technicians, as well as STEAM, Curriculum and Instruction, Research and Evaluation, and Program teams to help shape interdisciplinary projects and curricula Develop training and certification for advanced digital fabrication equipment and proper use of hand and power tools Consult with students, community members, and other stakeholders about construction approaches and materials Train and oversee student shop assistants and teaching assistants Oversee related inventory, maintenance tracking, user credentialing, and small equipment check-in/check-out Along with the Fab Lab Director, manage the schedule of equipment usage in the Fab Lab In collaboration with members of the STEAM team, teach workshops and classes for staff, students, community members and other stakeholders Create online and in-person tutorials for students, educators, and community members And other duties as assigned Qualifications

3+ years experience working with industrial-grade UV printing, 3D printing, laser cutting, and/or CNC milling Prior teaching/mentoring experience in shop or makerspace environment Prior experience creating with digital and fabrication technologies with exposure to general tools and maker processes beyond digital fabrication (e.g. electronics, sewing, coding, and/or arts and crafts) Ability to quickly learn new pieces of technology, including digital fabrication equipment and design software Ability to work with a diverse audience of varying numbers and experience levels Creative spirit and collaborative nature Ability to take initiative, work independently, and troubleshoot in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment Very high attention to detail Fluency with CAD design software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Rhino, etc) and vector based design programs including Adobe Illustrator Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills Passion for and understanding of the mission and vision of TPZ Commitment to live the values of Diversity, Equity and inclusion Bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole a plus Benefits

The Possible Zone is requiring that all employees receive a primary series of COVID-19 vaccination as well as a booster dose. Being fully vaccinated means that an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen, and receives a booster dose when eligible.
