The Woodlawn Campus of the University of Chicago Charter School (UCW) opened in September 2006 and currently educates students in grades six through eight. The school assists students in developing the habits of mind, work, and heart to be successful in college and good citizens of their community. Developing the habits of mind, work, and heart to be successful in college and good citizens of their community Contributing to the community through student research, service, and leadership Improving teaching and learning by serving as a site of professional development for teachers and school leaders Upholding the 4 core values of Scholarship, Leadership, Excellence, and Grit This position will deliver ambitious art instruction that incorporates evidence-based analysis of practice to ensure all students can achieve at high levels. The ideal candidate will provide a stimulating, challenging, and productive learning environment. Position Qualifications The applicant should have a Bachelor's degree in education and appropriate state licensure, and at least 2 years of experience teaching art in a K-12 environment. The applicant should also have proven program planning and development experience and be an excellent teacher of students, reflective and receptive to professional feedback and coaching, and possess strong written and oral communication skills. The pay range for this position is $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year.
