Written Exam (100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of assessing the applicant's knowledge of functions and duties of the Department of Agriculture and Measurement Standards; applicable laws, rules, and regulations; investigative and enforcement techniques; basic principles of agricultural, biological, chemical, environmental, and physical sciences; effective public relations; and agricultural products of Kern County. Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process. Minimum Qualifications / Employment Standards:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in a major that meets the minimum qualifications for County Agricultural Inspector/Biologist or County Weights and Measures Inspector license examinations. AND Inspector I must obtain one (1) license within twelve (12) months of initial appointment. Failure to obtain the license will result in termination. Pesticide Regulation Investigation and Environmental Monitoring Integrated Pest Management Commodity Regulation Pest Prevention and Plant Regulation Weight Verification Measurement Verification Transaction and Product Verification Additional Requirements:
Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License. A Class A or Class B California Driver's license may be required depending upon assignment.
