YOUR MISSION:

PUMA is seeking a passionate and creative

Footwear Designer II

with a strong focus on

color, material, and storytelling

to join our dynamic design team. In this role, you will help shape the visual and emotional identity of our products by crafting compelling footwear packs aimed to inspire and connect with consumers. You will bring fresh ideas, hands-on material exploration, and strong design instincts to create collections that push boundaries and reflect the brand’s vision. This role will focus on delivering compelling, innovative CMF (Color, Material, Finish) concepts that resonate globally and drive cultural relevance in our regional marketplace. You’ll translate your passion for design and storytelling into impactful product experiences for the modern consumer.

Research global fashion, art, culture, and sneaker trends to stay ahead of market shifts and identify emerging influences. Design and develop color and material concepts across multiple footwear lines with an emphasis on seasonal stories and cohesive pack narratives, aligning with brand strategy, resonating with target consumers and meeting cost and margin requirements. Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners in Design, Product Line Management and Development to translate insights into bold, consumer-relevant footwear stories catering to regional needs, bring concepts to life from ideation to final product. Lead the material selection process, exploring new and innovative materials, finishes, and constructions aimed to elevate product across a competitive landscape. Build color and material palettes that are both trend-forward and rooted in brand identity. Create and deliver mood boards, color CADs, material maps, and physical mock-ups to clearly communicate design vision when applicable, meeting tight deadlines. Participate in material and trend research trips, trade shows, and inspiration travel to stay ahead of trends and innovations. Build visually captivating presentations to communicate design narratives and material innovations to cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders and senior leadership. Participate in and lead seasonal trend reviews and consumer-focused brainstorming sessions. Maintain an expert understanding of the local market competitive landscape and brand positioning to ensure connection with consumers.

YOUR TALENT:

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Textile Design, or related field. 2-4 years of professional footwear or fashion/accessory design experience, with a strong focus on color, materials and treatments. Product & Design abilities a plus. Technical knowledge related to footwear materials, trims, treatments, and constructions that align with the product development process. Strong merchandising abilities with the ability to create well balanced interest packs and collections. Deep understanding of current and emerging global fashion trends and how they translate into product. Exceptional visual storytelling skills—mood boards, material palettes, color forecasting, etc. Strong sketching, rendering, and Adobe Creative Suite skills. Experience working with global product creation teams and factory partners. Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. A clear point of view and the confidence to push creative boundaries while balancing commercial goals. Up to 15% domestic and/or international travel
