Position Summary The Center Store Market Manager leads and develops a motivated team focused on delivering an exceptional guest experience and engaging team members. The Manager drives knowledge of Center Store departments and local products, fosters relationships with local vendors, and ensures authentic and engaging guest demos. The role proactively drives Center Store sales, profitability, and shrink identification while managing labor and operating expenses. The Manager may be assigned additional areas and will manage the total store in the Store Director’s absence. The Manager is responsible for recruiting, hiring, and developing team members and has responsibility for performance management, coaching, disciplinary actions, and input on promotions and terminations. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Directs all center store operations to provide a great guest experience, with strong leadership and decision-making. Inspires and leads center-store team members to reflect Save Mart’s valley proud and people-first culture. Manages center store operations to meet or exceed service and performance standards; develops and delivers training and coaching to support career progression. Ensures compliance with sanitation, safety, security, and company policies; implements corrective actions as needed. Drives center store financial performance (sales, profit, and loss, budgets, metrics) and identifies optimization opportunities. Oversees center store visual merchandising, signage, and pricing accuracy. Collaborates with the Store Business Partner on in-store training and professional development for center-store team members. Coaches and mentors team members; conducts performance reviews and participates in advancement and disciplinary decisions. Develops and manages weekly work schedules to optimize labor efficiency and service. Maintains focus on non-exempt task delegation where appropriate and adheres to safety and labor guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Education:
High School Diploma or GED. Additional retail training or certifications (e.g., RMCP) or relevant experience preferred. Experience:
3 years of equivalent management experience, or 2 years in a current perimeter department manager role with at least six months in another department; preferred. Physical:
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, climb stairs; lift up to 40 lbs; frequent mobility required. Other:
Availability to work varied retail hours; forklift certification may be required. Compensation : Hiring pay range: $70,145.00 – $92,065.00.
