ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE: Experts of operations, process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store. This team leads Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food safe experience. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by owning pick, pack and ship fulfillment work. As An General Merchandise & Food Sales Executive Team Leader, responsibilities will typically include the following: Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience building and managing a guest-first culture on your team Knowledge of retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory management, freshness and quality, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies Experience in setting and planning department workload to support business priorities and leading a team to achieve sales goals Knowledge of the competition; leveraging insights to drive business objectives Experience managing a team of hourly team members and leaders and creating business-specific strategies and goals Skills in recruiting, selecting and talent management of hourly team members and leaders What a typical day includes: Drive total store sales and understand how departments contribute to overall profitability Manage GM areas: inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and signing Lead a team of experts in operations, accuracy and efficiency Lead fulfillment-related activities (pick, pack and ship) as applicable Plan workload to ensure guest readiness at all times Conduct regular check-ins to ensure task completion Oversee GM backroom and sales floor, review reports to identify gaps and develop plans Drive a culture of food safety; train and coach team on standards and cleaning routines Develop and coach your team to elevate skills and expertise Provide service and a shopping experience that meets guest needs Maintain ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; lead by example Address store needs (emergency, regulatory visits, etc.) What we are looking for Enjoys working in a fun and energetic environment; works efficiently as a team for guests Provides service that makes guests say I LOVE TARGET Experience leading teams in stocking, setting and selling Target products Willing to work a schedule that includes weekends and busy periods Preferred/Required Skills 4 year degree or equivalent experience Strong interest and knowledge of the Food & Beverage business Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong business acumen Comfortable dealing with ambiguity Ability to manage conflict, lead and hold others accountable Relates well with all levels of the organization Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently Other basics we expect Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues Interpret instructions, reports and information Scan, handle and move merchandise safely (up to 40 pounds) Accurately handle cash register operations Climb ladders as needed Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) and reliable attendance Benefits Eligibility Please paste this URL into your browser to learn about benefits eligibility for this role: https://tgt.biz/BenefitsForYou_D Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) Target will make reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities.
