The US CCO Senior Revenue Accountant reports directly to the NAM Revenue Controller. The Senior Revenue Accountant will be an integral member on the accounting team to meet all aspects of the legal entity’s financial reporting (internal and external) related to revenue. This position will concentrate on timely and accurate processing of accounting activities based on US GAAP, to include but not limited to, preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying and reconciling of various financial transactions, accounts, statements, records and reports. The Senior Accountant will play a significant role in the month-end close process, audits, SOX compliance and various related tasks. Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant works under the direct supervision of the NAM Revenue Controller. Responsible for assigned month-end tasks required in the timely preparation of monthly financial statements, analyses and reports including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations related to revenue. Performs/supervises aspects of monthly financial close. Assists the Controller with the preparation of special reports as required by management—local, corporate or other functions. Reviews assigned components of the monthly balance sheet, income statement and supporting schedules and accounts to ensure financial accuracy and, when necessary, prepares correcting entries to ensure integrity of reported data, especially related to ASC 606 revenue deferrals and accruals. Assists in completing financial queries/information requests from internal management and from internal/external auditors. Performs US GAAP research and analysis of significant accounting transactions. Assists in the submission of year-end reporting packages. Assists in SOX initial testing, remediation activity and documentation requirements into Audit Board. Supports and collaborates with various FP&A personnel as required including but not limited to forecast as it relates to accounting activities including accruals, deferrals, account mapping and data analysis. Understands Dentsply Sirona’s reporting structure due to intercompany relationships between the US and other legal entities. Understands the structures of Product Groups/Commercial/Supply Chain/Corporate and legal entities as it relates to the accurate financial and management reporting. Leads or assists with special projects, as needed. Acts as business partner to teams of Commercial FP&A/Sales/Pricing/GBU/GBS/Tax/Treasury and Supply Chain Accounting. Liaises with internal and external auditors as requested. Ensures strong working relationships with relevant corporate departments including Compliance, Legal, Technical Accounting, and Internal Audit and follows guidance and directives. Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related discipline Graduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline, preferred Professional certification in accounting (CPA) or (CMA) Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in related function Foundational experience in Big 4 public accounting firm; large multi-national public company accounting experience preferred Job Knowledge
Strong financial and operational acumen. Strong technical accounting knowledge with high degree of emphasis on ASC 606. Strong moral compass, committed to operating with an unwavering commitment to ethics and compliance Proven ability to effectively collaborate across functional disciplines and geographies. Fundamental knowledge and experience in design and analysis of business processes and systems. Strong analytic skills and experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as AX or SAP. Experience with Hyperion suite of products a plus Strong problem-solving and logical thinking skills with a proactive and pragmatic approach to solving and correcting problems collaboratively Confident and persuasive with strong influencing skills; ability to win internal support for innovative ideas and initiatives. Strong people skills with a proven ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization. Motivated self-starter with strong decision-making, communication, organization, and multi-tasking abilities. Ability to work in a challenging environment with multiple, changing, and competing priorities. Must be flexible and willing to work as a team to cultivate change and process improvements. Strong team orientation, and ability to fit in with Dentsply Sirona’s culture Must have the ability to identify problems involving several variables in a variety of situations and resolve. Must be able to apply reasoning ability to spot errors, trends toward errors and process or procedure errors. Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office suite – Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access Proven ability and motivation to develop subordinates for increasing levels of responsibility Ability to meet deadlines and willing to work overtime, as necessary.
