Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager
Overview
This position is responsible for technical accounting and financial reporting, including accounting research on complex transactions, acquisition accounting, goodwill, EPS, and stock compensation. The role involves preparing SEC filings and supporting management with accounting policy decisions under US GAAP. Responsibilities
Assist with accounting research on complex transactions (e.g., debt offerings, derivatives, mergers and acquisitions, and customer/supplier contracts) and present findings to executive management (CEO, CFO, CAO). Manage the preparation of SEC filings, including Form 10-Qs and Form 10-Ks, and coordinate with the legal team on the Proxy Statement and related filings. Consult with internal business partners on complex transactions to ensure proper accounting and reporting treatment. Inform and consult with management on new accounting and regulatory standards (SEC and FASB). Review external financial reporting documents (Forms 10-Q, 10-K, earnings releases, 8-K, Prospectuses) and assist with accounting memos and research papers. Research technical accounting issues and communicate policy and technical matters to the organization, including senior management. Evaluate complex business transactions to determine proper accounting treatment and suggest alternative structuring options. Interact with internal and external auditors on accounting and reporting matters. Implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements. Participate in other projects as required. Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting. CPA with at least 5 years of experience with a Big 4 accounting firm, with heavy exposure to SEC and financial reporting. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules, with ability to research and propose positions on complex accounting issues. Demonstrated ability to manage responsibilities and direct the work of others. Strong execution, follow-up, and attention to detail. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and stakeholder needs. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external auditors.
