Accountant - Full Time (Chemicals)

This entry-level accounting position supports the OxyChem business in the Dallas corporate office. Duties may include responsibilities described below. Responsibilities
Provide accurate and timely reporting of information, analyze product cost data, monitor/reconcile balance sheet accounts, and ensure integrity and accuracy of month-end close processes. Support plant controllers and perform multiple functions of cost accounting. Assist business and manufacturing locations with analysis. Perform inventory accounting and reconciliations including LIFO/FIFO calculations and analysis. Complete physical inventory counts at plants/warehouses/terminals and analyze/reconcile product counts. Perform sales and cost of sales analysis. Provide support and financial close responsibility for business segments including preparation and consolidation of financial statements, payroll, fringe benefits, insurance, cash, and receivables accounting. Analyze monthly Balance Sheet and P&L activity, cash flow forecasting, working capital, and other sources/uses of funds. Provide support for internal audits, external audits, government, and tax reporting; assist with SEC reporting (Forms 10-Q and 10-K) and environmental, international, and lease accounting and reporting. Develop, recommend, implement, and document accounting practices to promote best practices, automation, and efficiencies while following GAAP, internal controls, and financial policies. Participate in safety programs and be a valued member of the Accounting Team. Qualifications

Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (minimum 18 hours of accounting credit). Must have a graduation date between Dec 2025 and May 2026. Must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Minimum 2 extracurricular, leadership and/or work activities. Desire to pursue a career as an Accountant in the chemicals industry.
