Position: ITR Residential Counselor Location: Swansea, MA Schedule: Full-Time; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 6:30 am – 2:00 pm; Friday 6:30 am – 4:30 pm Program: Intensive Treatment Residence (ITR) – Residential Department At Stevens Treatment Programs, our mission is to empower youth to lead successful lives through high quality treatment and education in a safe and nurturing environment. We are a dedicated team providing trauma-informed care to adolescent youth, helping them build coping, social, life, and permanency skills. We are seeking an individual with experience working with adolescents in residential or group care who can balance independence and teamwork. The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, and able to make sound decisions, problem-solve in high-stress situations, and engage youth from diverse backgrounds with respect and creativity. The ITR Residential Counselor is a vital member of our Residential team. Residential Counselors provide daily care, structure, and supervision for adolescent youth in a therapeutic residential setting. Through relationship-building, recreational programming, and behavioral support, Residential Counselors help youth develop life skills and succeed at home, in school, and in the community. Key Responsibilities

Supervise and engage youth in daily routines (meals, chores, school prep, bedtime) Lead and participate in recreational and structured programming, including trips and special events Provide behavioral support and implement Safety-Care de-escalation techniques Coach youth in social, emotional, and life skills development Build healthy, therapeutic relationships with youth and model positive behavior Administer medication (after MAP certification) Conduct safety checks, maintain a clean and organized environment, and ensure program consistency Transport youth to appointments and community activities Document daily activities, incidents, and communication logs Collaborate with treatment teams and participate in staff training, supervision, and professional development. Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record (per Stevens’ insurance carrier) Ability to pass a criminal background check (per EEC regulations) Professional reference from two supervisors Prior experience working with adolescents or in residential/group care required Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations Willingness to obtain and maintain MAP, CPR, and Safety-Care certification (training provided) Why Join Us?
