ATTORNEY POSITION

The Office of Legal Counsel for the Oklahoma State University (OSU)/A&M Board of Regents has an opening for a Senior Staff Attorney position in its Stillwater office. The position will primarily serve the OSU Athletic Department and will focus on compliance, contracts, and employment law issues impacting a major public university athletic department. Prior experience in sports law is preferable but not required.

The duties and job title may vary based on the experience and aptitude of the successful applicant. The position reports to the General Counsel for the OSU/A&M Board of Regents and works closely with Athletic Department administration.

Requirements include:

A bachelor’s degree and J.D./LL.B. degree from an accredited law school.

Membership in good standing in the Oklahoma Bar Association.

Five (5) years’ experience as a licensed practicing attorney.

Superior oral and written communication skills.

Ability to identify and resolve complex, sensitive issues with discretion.

Ability to interact effectively within an academic community.
