Admissions and Career Transition Counselor - San Marcos Remote within the San Marcos, Texas area. Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or a closely related field and two years of related experience. Our Job Corps programs provide life-changing services that help young people succeed in school, obtain good jobs, excel in their chosen fields, and serve as contributing members of their communities. We accomplish this through an intense commitment to safety, quality service, excellence, and partnerships. Responsibilities
Assess graduates/former trainee\'s placement readiness, provide appropriate referrals and accompanying support services in accordance with DOL, Center, and Equus requirements. Ensure timely placement and retention of assigned graduates and former enrollees in quality jobs, the military, or further education and training opportunities. Promote job development through direct contact with employers, One-Stops, JTPA, and State Employment Agencies. Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills. Maintain accountability of staff, students, and property. Adhere to safety practices in all areas of responsibility. Foster and sustain a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning. Attend all required staff training opportunities. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field; or Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field and two years related experience. Experience working with diverse youth. A valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record. Additional Information
