Overview Technical Project Manager – Ab Initio at UST. This role focuses on Ab Initio upgrades and data integration projects, leading cross-functional teams and coordinating with stakeholders.

You Are We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) with a strong background in Ab Initio upgrades and data integration projects. The ideal candidate will have proven technical expertise with the Ab Initio suite, strong project management skills (PMP preferred), and the ability to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

The Opportunity

Lead the full lifecycle of the Ab Initio upgrade project: planning, execution, risk management, testing, deployment, and support.

Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and resource allocations.

Partner with technical leads for assessment of existing Ab Initio environments and upgrade readiness.

Oversee data migration, regression testing, compatibility checks, and performance tuning.

Provide technical oversight to Ab Initio developers, data analysts, and QA teams.

Manage requests/change, conduct risk assessments, and ensure adherence to PMP/PMBOK methodologies.

Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, data governance, and security standards.

Facilitate status meetings, executive reporting, and stakeholder communication.

What You Need

Ab Initio Expertise: 5+ years hands-on with Ab Initio tools and architecture (GDE, MDH, EME, Control Center, Continuous Flows).

Ab Initio Upgrade Experience: Proven experience managing end-to-end Ab Initio upgrade projects.

Project Management: 5+ years in technical project management with PMP certification (or equivalent).

SDLC, Data Warehousing & ETL: Strong understanding of data integration, development lifecycles, and warehousing processes.

UNIX & Shell Scripting: Solid working knowledge.

Stakeholder Management & Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to engage business, technical, and leadership teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with DB2 and Postgres databases.

10+ years in data warehousing environments using the Ab Initio suite.

Knowledge of BI/Analytics tools (Cognos, Tableau).

Familiarity with handling PHI/PII and sensitive data in compliance with healthcare security standards.

Understanding of the U.S. healthcare system (claims, enrollments, provider operations).

Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Bachelor’s required).

Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; assertive, proactive communicator with strong facilitation skills; ability to document, estimate, and clearly present project scope and timelines; collaborative mindset with the ability to drive alignment across business and IT.

Role Details

Role Location: Remote

Compensation Range: $88,000-$132,000

Employment Type: Full-time
