Overview
This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): AZ, GA, NC and TX. We are looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to join our growing SVB Go Online Banking delivery team, which provides technology solutions and integration services in Digital Banking, Core banking, Credit/Charge/Debit Cards, and Foreign Exchange. The ideal candidate should have the necessary skills and experience to provide technical guidance, estimate efforts, determine optimal technology solutions to meet business needs, perform day-to-day application support, navigate uncertainties, and communicate effectively with IT management, individual contributors, and business stakeholders. They must move at a rapid rate of execution, consider both short- and long-term technical strategies, develop code, and oversee distributed development team members. As a Sr. Software Engineer, primary responsibility will be towards the development and support of Digital Banking solutions/projects. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for all software aspects within the team including research, design, technology insertion, development, testing and supporting them. Responsibilities
Design and develop technical solutions that meet user needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability. Oversee proactive maintenance on existing IaaS/SaaS and on-premise applications within Digital Banking, Mobile and integrating with Cards, Merchant Services, Payments, Foreign Exchange, Core banking and Trade Finance to ensure mission-critical systems remain stable, scalable, and fit-for-purpose. Coordinate and assist with troubleshooting of code defects, data errors and configuration problems to determine the origin of application errors. Provide support for business-critical/complex applications. Exercise judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Possess nice-to-have technical lead experience for small to medium-sized projects. Drive departmental best practices, guideline implementations, and adherence to standards. Demonstrate expertise in designing and developing real-time and file-based integrations and optimize database-level processing. Foster empathy with developers and a strong focus on developer experience. Commit to building elegant, maintainable, well-documented, secure code; value refactoring and improvement. Be proactive in learning new things and contributing beyond the call of duty; support the team’s growth. May mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical development. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in software application development and maintenance OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in software application development and maintenance. Preferred Skills
Excellent ability to communicate technical information clearly and work effectively with cross-functional teams Strong design and development experience with JEE & Enterprise Technologies: JMS, JDBC, Web development, Transactions, WS-*, JVM, JSP, Servlets, EJB, JNDI, JMX, JTA, Spring, JUnit, Hibernate Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience building SpringBoot microservices Experience with container architecture and Kubernetes Experience with public API development and API gateways like APIGEE In-depth understanding of JavaScript (ES6+), Loopback, closures and asynchronous programming Experience with Agile methodologies Proven experience building user interfaces with React.js and familiarity with Redux or MobX Understanding of the React component lifecycle and best practices Experience with testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha Ability to interact with REST APIs and handle data fetching/manipulation Proficient in using GitLab for version control Experience with Jira, Confluence and Oracle Database systems Understanding of basic UI/UX design principles Prior experience with regulated financial organizations is a plus Benefits
