Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Software Developer who will be a key support to the Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD)/Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Trainer (CIAT) program in Dahlgren, VA. Final offer is contingent upon meeting customer’s tasking requirements. Responsibilities
Deliver solutions and services to our customer using your expertise and experience. Work closely with a team of software engineers supporting the US Government in multiple software products supporting the CIAT program. Work from requirements specifications to develop or modify software applications. Design, code, benchmark test, debug, and document application features and changes. Review and assess existing enterprise applications to support new features, performance improvements, upgrades, and ongoing sustainment. Participate in the development of new systems throughout the entire application lifecycle: requirements analysis and definition, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment. Develop documentation, test scripts, and training materials to ensure successful use of these systems. Work in an Agile team environment, participating in Sprint planning, retrospectives, reviews, and daily standups. Collaborate with other team members in a pair programming environment. Work in an air-gapped environment on classified software products. Qualifications
Must have a BS or BA (prefer Computer Science or related field) and at least 5 years of related experience, or HS and at least 9 years' experience with military or technical IT-related training/certification. Experience with software development on Windows 10 and/or Red Hat 7.9 and with technical documentation. Experience with Java 11+ and C++11. Experience with RedHat 7/9 terminal navigation and commands. Experience with (but not limited to): Bash, Batch, and PowerShell scripting Test-Driven Development Software Design Concepts Agile: Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Retrospective, and Backlog Refinement CI/CD Pipelining Familiar with (but not limited to): Jira, Gradle and/or CMake, Confluence, Git, GitLab (GitHub acceptable), Jenkins (or CI/CD tool), SonarQube (or alternative) and JFrog Artifactory. Desired Qualifications
Prefer previous experience supporting the US Government in multiple software products for CIAT. Knowledge of Aegis Combat System is desirable but not required. Security Requirements
Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain/maintain clearance. Travel Requirements
On-site at NSWC Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren, VA Occasional travel (less than 10%) Applicant must be able to obtain/maintain appropriate identification credentials (e.g., REAL ID) if travel involves secure facilities. Physical Requirements
Remaining in a stationary position for long periods; occasional standing or sitting. Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving between worksites. Communicating with others to exchange information.
