Sr Safety Systems Engineer
Location:
Canonsburg, PA
Contract Position
Pay Estimated:
$67.58-$80.98/Hour
This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographical location, etc.).

This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities
Lead system safety activities as part of the
Systems Engineering lifecycle , including requirements analysis, definition, management, functional/performance analysis, interface definition, and verification & validation.
Provide technical leadership in architecting and implementing safety-significant system designs in collaboration with Program Management, customers, and engineering teams.
Drive critical decision-making around architecture, design, and technology trade-offs with a focus on system safety.
Serve as the safety technical authority across torpedo system development programs.
Support configuration and documentation of hardware/software systems under test, including software loading and integration.
Assist in the development and execution of test plans, test procedures, requirements traceability, test reporting, and test case implementation.
Document test issues, conduct failure analysis, and support system-level integration and acceptance testing.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law.
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related STEM field (Master’s preferred).
8+ years of relevant experience (or 6+ years with a Master’s degree).
Department of Defense Secret Clearance or ability to obtain within a reasonable time.
Agile development experience preferred.
Final work location: On-site / Travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Deep understanding and application of system safety standards, including MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, AOP-52, JOTP-51, MIL-HDBK-2155, T9070-AL-DPC-020/077-2.
Proven experience with safety-critical system architecture and design leadership.
Strong capability in system, hardware, and software integration for DoD systems.
Expertise in cost/schedule estimation for complex engineering efforts.
Demonstrated excellence in engineering solutions to DoD customer requirements.
Ability to define and present test strategies, defend technical direction, and achieve stakeholder alignment on safety-critical issues.
