Senior Vice President, Release Train Engineer role at BNY. This role is part of our Wealth Services team and is located in Lake Mary, FL. Responsibilities
Leads a group within a Platform consisting of multiple cross-functional development pods that are aligned with the vision of the platform.
Orchestrates quarterly Program Increment (PI) planning sessions for the Platform Group, ensuring delivery aligns with strategic benefits and quality standards.
Operates as the Group Level coach in target state to instill agile management best practices.
Owns adherence to BNY delivery principles, optimizations, and general hygiene.
Creates a culture that promotes continuous learning and continuous innovation.
Drives cross-functional collaboration with Product Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Leads, Architects, QE, Ops Leads, and development teams.
Facilitates group synchronization meetings with pods to keep delivery aligned.
Coordinates readiness activities across Pods, focusing on dependency management, risk mitigation, and seamless integration with the organization’s benefits objectives.
Promotes a clean and well-organized backlog in partnership with the Product Manager.
Organizes and ensures release management processes are executed successfully.
Ensures adherence to the Agile Delivery Framework controls and BNY PtX process for the group.
Facilitates the identification and removal of impediments impacting the group’s progress.
Drives continuous improvement in system architecture, DevOps, and release processes via workshops at the end of each PI (Inspect & Adapt).
Identifies and facilitates improvements to the Group’s operational health maturity.
Owns and drives forward all Flow Metrics aligned to the Group.
Ensures delivery risk is identified and managed.
Oversees group risks, dependencies, and issue resolution; escalating impediments as necessary.
Expertise / Experience
4+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer, Scrum Leader, or Program Manager.
5+ years of experience with Agile Enablement Tooling.
Typically requires 5 years of Agile experience.
Strong understanding of agile methodologies and practices.
Proven track record of managing multiple stakeholders and driving alignment.
Understanding and experience in software engineering and IT Infrastructure.
Individual Skills
Excellent leadership, communication, and facilitation skills.
Effective coach and collaborator, fostering a high-performing culture.
Proficiency in JIRA or other agile tools and the ability to learn POM tooling.
